PacificSport Vancouver Island Youth Leadership

With ENERGY – INNOVATION – CREATIVITY – INSPIRATION – OPTIMISM – FUN, students in grades 5, 6 and 7 are given an opportunity to experience a leadership development program based on the values of the Olympism through a series of interactive stations lead by our local Olympic Athletes.

Phase I – PacificSport Leadership Conference provides students with 4 – 5 interactive stations facilitated by Olympic and Paralympic athletes/coaches. Each station embodies one of the Olympic Values as outlined by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC). This is a great opportunity for our youth to ‘rub shoulders’ with some of our local athletic heroes, listen to their stories and absorb some of the spirit of the Olympics. The Conference has an opening and closing ceremony, parade of athletes/students, and banners with all of the excitement of the Olympic Games.

Phase II– PacificSport Community Leadership Projects Participating students are guided in the preparation and implementation of leadership projects to benefit their school and or community.  Their mentors are education students from Vancouver Island University who assist the students bring the Values of Olympism to their community.
